In line with the successful Singaporean-French Symposiums, SinFra 2019 - the 4th edition, took place last week, 12 and 13 December. Focusing on Artificial Intelligence, ehe symposium proposed outstanding talks related to the shared interest in that research field.
It gathered 90 people from divers institutions such as :
- ASTAR I2R & BII,
- NUS School of Computing (SoC),
HE Mr Marc Abensour, French embassador in Singapore emphasised on the crucial importance of AI, while Ms Ma Su SU, Head of Research Management of AI.SG detailed Singapore's national strategy concerning artificial intelligence.
Christophe Jouffrais, director of IPAL (IRL), concluded SinFra 2019 with a few words: "I am very satisfied and I thank, on behalf of IPAL, all the colleagues who presented their work on artificial intelligence at SinFra 2019. I also thank the many participants (90) who allowed the success of this edition. The symposium was rich scientifically with the presentation of many leading research on AI. It also allowed many meetings between French and Singaporean researchers, which should result in new collaborations and a new impetus for the IPAL laboratory in its project on AI, but also a good start for CNRS @ CREATE."
